We are located in Costa del Silencio, Tenerife
Hello! I'm Tine, and I offer general physiotherapy, manual therapy, rehabilitation, and Pilates classes.
With the necessary care and expertise, I offer personalized treatment and guidance for your physical complaints (and more), driven by my passion for learning, growing, and helping others feel their best.
My motto, "Mover para vivir mejor," which means "move to live better," emphasizes the importance of movement for a better quality of life and also inspired the name MOVI.
Together, we work on your independence and health!

As a physiotherapist, I treat people with acute and/or chronic conditions with the goal of reducing pain, maintaining, improving, and restoring mobility and function, so you can function optimally in daily life.
I also support patients during their pre- and post-operative rehabilitation.
Treatment may include manual therapy (joint mobilization, myofascial release of muscles and fascia, massage techniques, etc.), the use of physical aids (kinesio tape, electrotherapy, etc.), and exercise therapy.
In consultation with you, and depending on the condition and your expectations, I will strive to provide the best treatment method and schedule to treat you as efficiently as possible.
As a healthcare professional, I have a university degree and am a member of the Colegio Oficial de Physioterapeutas de Canarias. This allows me to keep up to date with the latest developments in our field and offer you the highest quality of service.

Communication
Tenerife is a (second) home to many foreigners, and for some, understanding and speaking Spanish can be quite a challenge.
However, communication is an important way to express yourself, especially when it comes to your health.
To make this easier for you, I speak the following languages:

Do you live in Belgium and need or want to undergo rehabilitation in Tenerife?
It is possible to undergo rehabilitation abroad and have your physiotherapy sessions reimbursed according to the Belgian reimbursement rate.
I recommend first checking with your current health insurer (mutual insurance company) to see if you meet the requirements.
If you would like more information, please feel free to contact me, and I will be happy to help.

During Pilates classes, we focus on strengthening our abdominal, back, and pelvic floor muscles,
improving overall mobility, muscle and joint flexibility, and promoting good posture.
We do this with controlled exercises and breathing techniques performed on a mat.
This form of exercise is suitable for people of all fitness levels and helps reduce stress, alleviate back pain, and improve overall physical condition, among other benefits.

Hello! I'm Tine, the physiotherapist and Pilates instructor behind MOVI.
From a young age, I've been fascinated by the human body and the incredible way it functions. Over the years, this interest has only grown stronger, and it became my dream to work with people and make a positive difference in their lives.
However, the path to realizing this dream was anything but straight.
I started my career as a pharmacy technician, a role I embraced wholeheartedly for seven years. In addition to this full-time job, I poured my energy into teaching group fitness classes, and one class in particular only further fueled my interest in the human body: Pilates.
Completing the Comprehensive Level I Pilates course confirmed my desire to learn much more and prompted me to make a crucial life decision. Because deep down, I knew I wanted to know more and become even more...
With both enthusiasm and a touch of sadness, I closed my chapter in the pharmaceutical world in 2017 and enrolled at Ghent University for a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy.
Five (six) intense years followed, filled with late nights, countless lectures, and more than a few moments of doubt.
It took all my dedication, but in retrospect, it was the best choice I could have made.
Today, I cherish the freedom to work independently, continuously grow, and challenge myself in new ways.
If you get to know me better, you'll quickly realize: I have an insatiable curiosity and a genuine love of lifelong learning.
That's what drives me forward, both in my work and in my life.
In September 2023, a new adventure began when I, my husband Nicolaas, our dogs, and our cats took the plunge and moved to the beautiful, sun-drenched Canary Island of Tenerife. Our passion for the Spanish language, the countless twists and turns for motorcycle enthusiast Nicolaas, and our aversion to the cold and wet Belgian weather drove us to take on this challenge.
Just a few months later, in January 2024, our hearts were even fuller with the arrival of our brave son Leon, or "Leoncito," as we like to call him.
Besides work, studies, and motherhood, I enjoy going on adventures with my family and our two dogs, Flo and Bougie, and hiking in the endless mountains and ravines that make Tenerife such a paradise.
So, enough about me, and now I look forward to getting to know you and hearing your story!
